Facts About Meteors
Location: a meteoroid falling through earth’s atmosphere
Size: They range in size from dust to around 10 metres in diameter. Most meteoroids that cause meteors are about the size of a pebble.
Temperature: can reach several thousand degrees in temperature before they either explode or vaporize or both.
Appearance: considered a fireball when it is brighter than any of the planets in the sky. Sometimes called “flaming meteoroids". friction with the air molecules heats up the meteor which emits light along its path
